It is not a soft nylon bag with a zipper — it is constructed from a reinforced polymer fabric that resists abrasion and does not absorb moisture the way woven textiles do. The welded seams rather than stitched ones mean there are no thread channels for water to wick through, which matters when the pouch rides in a bag that gets wet or sits on a damp surface.

The zipper is a YKK AquaGuard unit, which adds a water-repellant barrier at the one point in the construction where the seal would otherwise be the weakest. The pull is fitted with 550 paracord wrapped in heat shrink tubing, giving enough texture to work it confidently with gloves on. The anti-slip texture on the exterior keeps the pouch from sliding around inside a larger bag or on a surface.
