Description

The Magpul Forward Sling Mount for the Mossberg 590A1 solves a specific problem: the 590A1’s heavy-walled barrel is dimensionally different from standard Mossberg 590 and 500 barrels, which means generic barrel-clamp sling mounts either won’t seat correctly or won’t stay put under field use. This mount is engineered around those thicker barrel dimensions, clamping directly onto the barrel and magazine tube to create a stable, dedicated forward attachment point without permanent modification to the shotgun.

Once installed, it gives you a choice of attachment styles. The mount accepts push-button QD sling swivels for fast one-hand transitions and sling removal, or it can be configured for a one-point clip-in style attachment if that better suits your carry preference. That flexibility matters because the forward position affects balance and swing differently depending on whether you’re running a two-point or one-point sling setup, and having both options available means you’re not locked into a single sling system. The mount can also be oriented for either right- or left-handed use.

Construction is precision-cast steel finished in Melonite, a surface treatment that converts the outer layer of the steel itself rather than depositing a coating on top of it. The result is corrosion resistance and hardness that hold up under conditions where a painted or blued finish would degrade. This is the same Melonite process Magpul specifies across its steel shotgun accessories designed for hard use. Note that this mount is specifically designed for 590A1 models with factory-installed extended magazine tubes and will not fit other Mossberg shotgun variants.
