Description
The Magpul Hunter American stock is built for shooters who want to wring more out of a Ruger American bolt-action rifle without replacing the action itself. It fits short-action Ruger American Predator and Ranch models that came from the factory with an AR-compatible magazine stock, and this FDE variant ships with a STANAG magazine well already installed — meaning you can feed the rifle from standard AR-pattern magazines rather than relying on proprietary Ruger detachable magazines.
The stock is constructed around an aluminum chassis bedded inside a synthetic shell. That combination matters because a rigid aluminum chassis reduces flex under load and gives the action a more consistent bearing surface than a stock that relies on polymer alone, which tends to shift with temperature changes and accumulated field wear. The result is a more repeatable cheek-to-scope relationship from shot to shot.
Length of pull and comb height are both adjustable, so the stock can be dialed in to suit different optic heights or shooter builds rather than forcing a compromise between eye relief and a comfortable cheek weld. For hunters who swap between a low-mounted scope for close-cover work and a higher-mounted variable for open ground, that adjustability removes the need to choose one setup and live with the other. The Flat Dark Earth finish ties the stock visually to the broader FDE accessory ecosystem Magpul maintains across its product line.
This is a right-hand stock. If you are upgrading a Ruger American short-action Predator or Ranch, confirm your action inlet before ordering.
