Description
The Magpul Hunter Lite is a purpose-built field stock for Remington 700 short-action rifles and 700-pattern actions, aimed at hunters who want a genuinely lighter carry without giving up the bedding consistency that bolt-action accuracy demands. Compared to the original Hunter 700 Stock, the Hunter Lite sheds close to 25% of the weight and trims the forend to nearly 25% narrower — changes that translate directly to reduced fatigue on long approaches and easier handling in dense cover where a wide forend catches brush.
Receiver support comes from an extruded aluminum V-bedding block paired with reinforced steel pillars. The pillars prevent the action from compressing into the stock body under recoil, which keeps the rifle returning to the same position shot after shot and helps maintain consistent accuracy across different temperature and humidity conditions that cause polymer alone to shift.
The stock converts between right- and left-handed configurations by swapping included inserts, so the same chassis can serve either a conventional or a mirror-image action. Length of pull is set with removable half-inch spacers, and snap-on cheek risers allow comb height to be dialed in without permanent modification — useful when moving between bare eye and scope, or when fitting the rifle to different shooters. M-LOK slots along the forend let you mount a bipod or other accessories directly without relying on a swivel stud adapter, though integral sling swivel studs are present on both the forend and buttstock as well.
The AICS-compatible magazine well includes stamped steel over-insertion tabs that index the magazine to the same depth every time, and the ambidextrous release paddle is accessible from either side. The enlarged trigger guard accommodates a gloved hand in cold-weather conditions. Made in the USA.
