Description

The Magpul Hunter X-22 Takedown stock is built for shooters who want a more capable platform around the Ruger 10/22 Takedown without abandoning the rifle’s core appeal: compact portability and ease of use. The stock is made from reinforced polymer and drops in without gunsmithing, which means the action transfers directly without any fitting work on the shooter’s part.

The barrel tray is reversible, which matters more than it might sound. The 10/22 Takedown is available with factory pencil-profile and heavier contour barrels, and aftermarket options vary widely. The tray accommodates factory profiles as well as bull barrels up to 0.920 inches in diameter, so the stock does not lock you into a single barrel configuration when you want to upgrade later.

Length of pull adjusts between 12.5 and 14.5 inches using half-inch spacers, which covers a wide enough range to fit smaller-framed shooters and taller ones without compromise. The 60-degree grip angle from the bore axis positions the hand in a way that keeps the wrist straighter under recoil than a traditional sporting stock geometry would. Comb height is also adjustable, which is useful if you are mounting an optic and need cheek weld to align properly with a raised sight line rather than iron sights.

M-LOK slots are integrated into the forend for mounting lights, bipods, or other accessories without requiring an adapter rail. Sling attachment is handled by reversible Footman’s loops on both sides of the rear, accommodating left- and right-handed sling carry preferences. The rubber buttpad is non-slip, keeping the stock planted on the shoulder during rapid fire. The Olive Drab Green finish is Magpul’s own designation and is consistent throughout the stock.
