Description

The Magpul Hunter X-22 Takedown Forend is built for Ruger 10/22 Takedown owners who want to run a second barrel without buying a second stock. The concept is straightforward: if you already have the Hunter X-22 Takedown Stock on your rifle, this forend lets you swap to an alternate barrel and have it fit properly from the moment you close it up, rather than forcing you to re-bed or shim anything by hand each time.

The core of that repeatability is a reversible barrel tray. Flipping it changes the channel geometry to accommodate either a standard pencil-profile barrel or a heavy bull barrel with an outer diameter up to 0.920 inches. That single tray handles the range of aftermarket and factory profiles without requiring separate adapter parts. An adjustable barrel-tensioning shim lets you dial in how much preload the forend applies to the barrel, which affects the consistency of the harmonic node your barrel returns to after each shot. If you prefer to eliminate forend contact entirely, the barrel can be free-floated instead — useful for precision work where any variation in forend pressure would show up at the target.

M-LOK slots run along the sides and bottom, so lights, lasers, grips, or a sling mount can be attached without clamps or adapters that shift the balance of a trim rimfire. A dimpled drill point at the bottom of the forend marks the correct location for an optional sling swivel stud, keeping bipod or sling attachment clean without guesswork. The whole unit is molded from reinforced polymer and made in the United States.
