The Magpul M-LOK Index Stop is built for shooters who want a reliable, repeatable reference point for the support hand without adding bulk or complexity to the handguard. Its purpose is straightforward: the defined front edge gives the index finger a fixed stopping point, so hand placement behind the muzzle stays consistent under the kind of stress that makes conscious monitoring unreliable. That matters most on a home defense carbine or patrol rifle, where the margin for correcting a drifting grip is narrow.

The ridged texture on both the front and rear faces delivers tactile confirmation of hand position, which means gloves do not compromise your ability to feel whether the hand is seated correctly. The geometry is ambidextrous, so it functions the same way regardless of which hand is supporting the rifle.

Attachment uses a half M-LOK slot rather than a full one, which is a meaningful distinction: it consumes less real estate on the handguard than a standard M-LOK accessory, preserving space for lights, pressure switches, or other components. The hardware is 4140 chromoly steel to mil-spec, and the body is Magpul’s proprietary polymer — the same material family used across their accessory line. At one-eighth inch of protrusion, it sits flush with Magpul Type 2 M-LOK Rail Covers, keeping the profile clean if the handguard uses them.

One compatibility constraint worth knowing before ordering: this accessory attaches via the half-slot T-Nut system and is designed for octagonal aluminum M-LOK handguards only. Polymer handguards, wide-surface handguards, and standard forends will not accept it. Made in the USA.
