Description
Unused M-LOK slots on a handguard are a practical problem: exposed metal edges can snag gear, and bare rail sections offer nothing for the support hand to grip. Magpul’s M-LOK Rail Cover, Type 1 addresses both issues with a single piece of heat-resistant rubber that locks directly into the M-LOK slot pattern without tools and without any fuss about orientation — there is no correct up, down, front, or back, so installation is fast and repeatable.
Each cover spans nine and a half inches, filling six full M-LOK slots end to end. Where your rail section is shorter, Magpul has built cut lines into the rubber at both half-slot and full-slot intervals, so you can trim a cover to the exact length you need without guesswork. That same flexibility lets you mix colors across a handguard if you are running covers in multiple color variants to match other components.
The rubber compound is chosen specifically for heat resistance, which matters on a handguard positioned close to the barrel during sustained fire. The material stays dimensionally stable and keeps its grip texture rather than softening or deforming. That textured surface is the other reason to run these: it gives the support hand consistent, pliable traction in a way bare aluminum rail does not. Each package contains two covers. Made in the USA.
