The Magpul MIAD Gen 1.1 Type 2 grip is built for shooters who want a pistol grip that actually fits their hand rather than accepting whatever the factory installed. The core idea is modular fit: the grip ships with three rear backstrap sizes and two front strap profiles — one straight and one with a slight finger groove — so you can dial in the reach and feel without changing anything else on the rifle. That matters because a grip that puts your trigger finger at the wrong angle changes how naturally your index finger lands on the shoe, and a poor natural point can compound over a long range session.

The interior is not wasted space. The removable core accepts a half-ounce lubrication bottle, and if you pull the core out entirely you have a waterproof cavity sized for AA, AAA, or CR123A batteries. A dual-drive mounting screw is included, so you are not hunting for a separate fastener at installation. The aggressive texture on the sides and rear backstrap provides retention under wet or sweaty conditions without being rough enough to cause discomfort during extended handling. The whole assembly is polymer, which keeps weight low and eliminates the corrosion concerns you get with metal grips in humid environments.
