Dead batteries in the field are a nuisance that costs time and focus at exactly the wrong moment. The Magpul MIAD/MOE AA/AAA Battery Storage Core is a purpose-built insert that fits inside the grip of Magpul MIAD, MOE, MOE+, MOE-K2, and MOE AK pistol grips, using space that would otherwise go to waste. Rather than stuffing spares into a pocket or a pouch where they mix with dead cells, this core keeps two AA or AAA batteries—the sizes that power most rifle optics and accessories—secured inside the grip itself.

The compartment is water-resistant and holds the batteries without rattle, which matters both for noise discipline and for protecting the cells from vibration over a long day of movement. The cap that closes the core is reversible: one face is unmarked for live batteries, the other is marked “SPENT” so you can flip it when you load the last dead set, preventing a used pair from being mistaken for fresh ones or abandoned in the field. The bottom grip cap of the host grip retains the core securely while still allowing quick removal when you need a swap.

Fit is handled by an internal spacer that accommodates both AA and AAA cells without modification. No tools are required to access the core—thumb pressure on the cap is enough.
