Description
The MOE-K2 is Magpul’s full-size pistol grip for AR15/M4-pattern rifles, built around a more vertical geometry than a standard A2-style grip. That steeper angle is the core design decision here: when a shooter is running a short-length-of-pull build or a PDW-configured rifle, the firing hand gets pulled closer to the body, and a traditional grip angle starts to feel cocked and uncomfortable. The K2’s 17-degree vertical angle keeps the wrist in a neutral position under those conditions, reducing fatigue and maintaining positive trigger control without forcing a compromised hold.
The grip is noticeably larger in profile than Magpul’s MOE-K, which suits shooters with larger hands or those who simply prefer more material to wrap their fingers around. Trapezoidal Surface Projection texture covers the grip panels — this is a specific geometry Magpul uses to bite into gloves or bare skin consistently, even when wet. The beavertail backstrap serves two functions: it fills the gap between the grip and the lower receiver and helps index the hand the same way every time, which supports consistent trigger finger placement. A ridged backstrap reinforces that indexing by giving the middle finger a defined landing point.
Internally, the grip is hollow and accepts standard Magpul Storage Cores, sold separately, so the space can be used for a battery, a cleaning patch, or a small multi-tool rather than sitting empty. The grip ships with the hardware needed for installation and is made in the USA. It also fits 7.62 NATO AR10/SR25-pattern rifles, though depending on the specific receiver, the beavertail may not sit flush — Magpul notes this is a cosmetic gap only and does not affect how the grip functions.
