Description

The Magpul MOE M-LOK Handguard in mid-length is built for shooters who want a cleaner, more capable platform than a standard factory handguard without committing to a free-float rail system. It drops directly onto the existing barrel nut and delta ring, so the swap requires no gunsmithing, no barrel nut wrenches, and no changes to the front hand guard retaining cap — provided it is a round cap rather than a triangular one, which this handguard does not accommodate. That straightforward installation is the point: it removes the barrier between a mil-spec plastic handguard and something actually worth building on.

The mid-length fit matters mechanically, not just dimensionally. Mid-length hand guard positioning distributes the shooter’s support hand further forward than a carbine-length setup, which improves control and works with the natural geometry of a mid-length gas system. The handguard is sized to match that configuration correctly without leaving gaps or requiring adapters.

M-LOK slots run at the two, six, and ten o’clock positions, accepting Picatinny rail sections, lights, bipods, sling mounts, or any other direct-attach M-LOK accessory. Keeping the slots to those three positions rather than wrapping them continuously holds the profile slim and maintains comfortable hand placement in the bare areas. A riveted aluminum heat shield sits inside, and the front lip and side extensions are shaped to redirect hot gas from the gas block away from the shooter’s hand. The rear of the top is relieved so that optic mounts overhanging the receiver do not interfere with seating the handguard. The polymer construction is reinforced and rated to handle heat from sustained fire.
