Description

The Magpul MOE M-LOK Handguard in rifle length is built for shooters running a standard direct-impingement AR-15 or most piston-driven rifles who want to add accessories without committing to a free-float system or a barrel nut swap. It drops directly onto the existing barrel nut and delta ring, so the installation requires no gunsmithing, no specialized tooling, and no changes to the rifle’s headspace or gas system.

M-LOK slots are positioned at the 2, 6, and 10 o’clock positions rather than around the full circumference. That placement keeps the outer profile slim and comfortable in the hand while still giving you the positions most commonly needed for a light, pressure switch, or bipod adapter. Where you need a continuous Picatinny section, standard M-LOK rail inserts mount directly into those slots. The top rear of the handguard is relieved to clear a wide range of optic mounts without interference.

The body is a reinforced, heat-resistant polymer. An integral aluminum heat shield, riveted in place, sits between your hand and the barrel during sustained fire. A front lip and side extensions are shaped to redirect hot gas away from the shooter when the gas block vents. The rifle-length dimension matters here: it suits the longer dwell time of a rifle-length gas system, giving the handguard enough span to keep the shooter’s support hand well forward of the gas block without crowding it. At 12.1 oz, it adds only modest weight compared to a carbine or mid-length version, a reasonable trade for the longer reach and the more stable support-hand position it allows on a 20-inch or similarly configured upper.
