MAGPUL SLING MOUNT KIT TYPE 2

Description

The Magpul Sling Mount Kit Type 2 is the second half of a two-part system designed to give your Magpul stock a true ambidextrous quick-detach sling socket. On its own, it does nothing — it only becomes functional when paired with the Type 1 Sling Mount Kit, which supplies the mounting screw that threads into the Type 2’s socket on the opposite side of the stock. That single-fastener approach keeps the installation clean and adds minimal weight to the rifle.

The socket accepts any industry-standard push-button QD sling swivel, including Magpul’s own QDM, so you’re not locked into a proprietary attachment. Once installed on compatible stocks — including the SGA, MOE Rifle, MOE Fixed Carbine, MOE AK, Zhukov-S, Hunter 700, and Hunter X-22 — you get a mirrored QD cup on the weak side that lets a left- or right-handed shooter attach and detach the sling from either side of the gun without rerouting anything. That matters most on a rifle that changes hands frequently or is shared between shooters with different dominant sides.

Construction is heavy-duty black phosphatized steel throughout. Black phosphate provides corrosion resistance and a matte, non-reflective surface that holds up under field conditions without adding bulk. It is made in the USA. One important compatibility note from Magpul: the Type 2 Kit does not support dual-side swivel configurations on the ACS or ACS-L stocks, so verify your stock model before ordering.
