The Magpul UBR Gen 2 is built for shooters who want the stability and cheek weld consistency of a fixed stock without giving up length-of-pull adjustability. That tension — fixed feel versus collapsible utility — is exactly what the UBR platform was designed to resolve, and the Gen 2 refines it further.

The fixed cheek piece is the core of how this stock works. On a conventional collapsible stock, the cheek piece travels with the buttstock when you shorten the pull, which means your eye sits at a different height depending on where the stock is set. On the UBR Gen 2, the cheek piece stays put relative to the receiver across all eight positions, so your sight picture remains consistent whether you’re shooting with a plate carrier on or prone without gear. That matters most for magnified optics, where even a few millimeters of vertical shift forces a re-acquisition.

Compatibility with Carbine, A5, and SR-25 buffer systems means this stock fits the full breadth of AR15/M4 and AR10/SR25 builds without requiring a dedicated buffer tube — one is included. The reinforced polymer construction is designed to absorb hard impacts rather than transfer them to the receiver extension, and Magpul trimmed nearly five ounces from the original UBR without removing material from load-bearing sections. The result is a stock that handles large-bore AR calibers and rough field use without the weight penalty of the first generation.

Sling integration is handled through front and rear QD attachment points and two footman’s loops, giving you options for both single- and two-point configurations. The MOE SL angled-toe rubber butt-pad reduces the tendency to snag on gear when mounting the rifle, and a built-in storage compartment in the butt provides space for small essentials.
