The Magpul Hunter X-22 Takedown stock is built for shooters who want to get more out of the Ruger 10/22 Takedown platform without sacrificing the rifle’s core appeal: compact, packable, and ready to work. Where the factory stock keeps things basic, the Hunter X-22 adds ergonomic refinements that make a meaningful difference during extended range sessions or field carry.

The stock is built from reinforced polymer, which keeps weight down and holds up to rough handling and weather without the maintenance demands of wood. Length of pull is adjustable, so the fit can be dialed in for different shooters or layered clothing rather than forcing a compromise. Comb height is independently adjustable as well, which matters when mounting an optic — a higher comb aligns your eye naturally behind a scope without straining your neck over a cheekpiece designed for iron sights.

M-LOK slots along the forend let you add accessories — lights, bipods, sling anchors — without committing to a permanent configuration or adding bulk you do not need. Multiple sling mount points are already integrated into the stock itself, so carrying options are built in from the start. A non-slip rubber butt pad keeps the rifle planted during follow-up shots and absorbs the minor recoil typical of rimfire shooting.

The stock is designed specifically for the Takedown variant of the 10/22, accommodating the barrel removal mechanism that makes that model worth carrying in a pack. If you use a standard barreled 10/22, this is not the right fit — the Takedown and standard actions are not interchangeable in this stock.
