Description
The MDT XRS is designed for Savage short-action rifle owners who want a more disciplined shooting platform without abandoning the familiar handling of a traditional stock. It fits naturally between a factory wood or polymer stock and a fully specialized precision chassis, making it a practical choice for hunters who also shoot targets, or anyone who wants measurable fit improvements without rebuilding their entire setup around a competition-oriented frame.
At the core of the XRS is a CNC-machined 6061 aircraft-grade aluminum spine paired with textured polymer panels. The aluminum provides the rigidity that keeps the action consistently seated, while the polymer panels maintain a stock-like feel in the hand and on the shoulder rather than the industrial character of an all-metal chassis. The V-block bedding system is what ties that rigidity to accuracy: by controlling how the action sits in the chassis, it reduces the variation in point of impact that a poorly fitted stock can introduce over time.
Length of pull adjusts from 13.25 inches to beyond 15 inches via included spacers, so the rifle can be configured to match the shooter rather than the other way around. A quick-adjust cheek piece lets you set eye height to align cleanly with your optic, which matters more as magnification increases and your margin for head position error shrinks. The 12-inch M-LOK forend gives you room to mount a bipod, an ARCA rail, or other support equipment at a position that suits your preferred technique. AICS-pattern magazine compatibility opens the door to a wide selection of aftermarket magazines, and an ambidextrous magazine release handles the transition without requiring a hand change. Both angled and vertical grip panels are included, so you can test which geometry works better for your trigger hand before committing.
