Description

The MDT XRS chassis is built for Savage short action rifles and suits two kinds of shooters well: the hunter who wants more adjustability than a factory stock allows, and the precision target shooter who wants a traditional stock feel without giving up a modern chassis platform. It is not a dedicated competition rig or a hunting stock with a rail bolted on — it occupies the middle ground deliberately, and the design decisions reflect that.

The full-length core is CNC-machined from 6061 aluminum, which provides the rigidity needed for a stable bedding surface, while the exterior polymer panels keep the chassis from feeling like bare metal in cold weather and maintain the shouldering profile of a conventional stock. The V-block bedding system secures the action with consistent contact geometry, which matters because repeatable action fit directly affects shot-to-shot consistency — a sloppy fit allows the action to shift under recoil, and the V-block format addresses that without requiring pillar bedding or epoxy work. The chassis ships with both an angled grip and a vertical grip, so shooters can match grip angle to their trigger technique or shooting position before ever buying an aftermarket part. Length of pull adjusts from 13.25 inches upward using included spacers, and the cheek piece adjusts for scope height, letting the shooter build a natural head position rather than adapting to a fixed comb. The 12-inch M-LOK forend is wide and flat, which helps on barricades and bags, and it accepts ARCA or Picatinny rails without modification.
