Description

The MDT XRS chassis is built for the shooter who wants the handling characteristics of a traditional hunting stock without giving up the configurability of a modern precision platform. It fits Remington 700 short-action rifles and their clones, making it a straightforward upgrade path for anyone already running that action.

The structural core is CNC machined from 6061 aluminum, which keeps the chassis rigid enough for repeatable accuracy while the textured polymer panels that cover it act as thermal insulation, reducing heat transfer to your hands in cold weather. Bedding is handled by a precision aluminum V-block system, which pulls the action into a consistent register every time rather than relying on pillar or glass bedding after the fact.

The forend runs 12 inches and is M-LOK compatible along its length, so you can mount a bipod, an ARCA rail, or a Picatinny section exactly where your hold dictates rather than where a fixed stud happens to be. Length of pull is set with spacers and adjusts from 13.25 inches up past 15 inches, which covers a wide range of shooters and layering without requiring tools beyond what ships with the chassis. The cheek piece adjusts independently, letting you dial in the correct height for your scope regardless of where your LOP ends up.

Magazines are AICS pattern, the same external box format used across most precision rifle chassis, so feeding options are broad. The latch is ambidextrous, which matters when shooting from awkward field positions. Two grip options ship in the box — an angled grip for a more traditional wrist angle and a vertical grip for a more aggressive stance — so you can settle on fit before spending anything additional.
