Description
The Night Fision Perfect Dot Front Sight Post is a direct replacement for the standard Mil-Spec post on AR-15 and AR-10 platform rifles, built for shooters who want reliable target acquisition in low-light without moving to a magnified optic or a red dot. It threads into any front sight base that accepts a standard Mil-Spec post pattern, so fitment is straightforward on the overwhelming majority of fixed and folding A2-style front sight towers.
The core of the design is a tritium vial embedded in the post tip. Tritium is a self-luminous isotope that glows continuously without batteries, ambient light charging, or any input from the shooter. In darkness or transitional lighting, the dot simply appears at the front of your sight picture. Night Fision’s Gen 2 version uses a narrower post profile than their earlier design, which reduces the amount of visual real estate the post occupies when you’re looking through the rear aperture — a meaningful difference when engaging smaller targets at distance with iron sights.
The tritium insert is surrounded by a yellow luminescent ring. In daylight, the yellow ring is what draws your eye to the post; the tritium takes over when that ambient light falls away. This two-condition approach means the sight works whether you’re shooting in full sun or in a dark interior without requiring you to switch between configurations. The post is machined from steel and ships with a custom adjustment tool for elevation tuning. Installation follows the same process as any standard AR front sight post replacement.
