The Nocpix Quest S50R is built for hunters and observers who want to run thermal glass the way they run conventional binoculars — both hands, both eyes, natural scanning posture — without trading away image quality to get there. The binocular format distributes the weight comfortably and lets you hold a wide field for long periods, which matters when you are glassing a hillside in the dark before a stalk rather than confirming a single known target.

At the center of the system is a 1280×1024 thermal sensor running at 60 Hz with an NETD of 15 mK or better. The high pixel count means finer spatial detail at a given range, while the low NETD figure reflects the sensor’s ability to resolve small differences in surface temperature — useful for separating an animal from brush where both are close to ambient. The 50 mm f/1.1 germanium objective gathers enough thermal energy to support that sensitivity without requiring digital gain that would soften the image. Native 2× magnification keeps the field wide at that focal length, and digital zoom extends to 16× when you need to read an animal’s body condition at distance.

Each eyepiece drives its own 1920×1200 AMOLED panel, so the full sensor resolution reaches both eyes independently rather than being split or shared. Independent diopter adjustment — ±5 diopters — means users with unequal vision in each eye can dial in a sharp image without eyewear. The integrated laser rangefinder reaches out to 1,000 yards, feeding distance data in the same moment you are looking at the target. A dual-battery arrangement — internal USB-C rechargeable combined with an auxiliary 18650-style cell — lets you swap the external cell in the field without shutting down, removing the hard stop that a sealed single-battery design would impose on an overnight session.
