Description

The star chamber — the recessed area behind the bolt face where the cartridge head seats — is one of the hardest places to clean on a direct-impingement AR-pattern rifle. Carbon accumulates there from every round fired, and a standard patch on a rod can’t reach the geometry. Otis built this tool specifically to address that problem. A shaped cleaning head wraps around the bolt-face area and presses its pad against the surfaces that collect the most fouling, rather than simply passing through the bore.

The tool threads onto a cleaning rod using an 8-32 thread, which is the standard thread pattern Otis uses across its cleaning system components. That compatibility means it integrates directly with Otis rods and handles you may already own, without needing an adapter. The cleaning pads are replaceable — Otis sells them separately in bulk packs — so the tool itself is a long-term piece of kit rather than a consumable.
