Description
The Proof Research Elevation 2.0 is built for precision rifle shooting at distance — hunters pursuing large game at extended range and competitive shooters who need a chassis-ready bolt gun that performs without extensive tuning out of the box. It is a right-hand bolt action chambered in .300 PRC, a cartridge designed from the outset around long, high-BC projectiles seated at correct depth, which means your ammunition selection can lean heavily toward the heaviest .30-caliber bullets on the market without the seating compromises that come with retrofitted cartridges.
The 1-in-9 twist rate is worth pausing on. Most .30-caliber bolt rifles are cut at 1-in-10, which is adequate for bullets up to roughly 220 grains. The faster 1-in-9 twist here provides the additional rotational stability needed to fully stabilize the heaviest long-range .300 PRC loads — the 230-grain class projectiles that give the cartridge much of its long-range advantage — without the shooter having to compromise on bullet selection.
The barrel itself is carbon fiber wrapped, which affects the rifle’s handling in a way that matters on a long day afield: weight is removed from the end of the rifle rather than from the stock, so the balance point stays consistent and the rifle remains steady under a supported position rather than diving muzzle-heavy. Carbon fiber also dissipates heat differently than steel, maintaining dimensional consistency across a cold bore and a warm one. The stock is Proof Research’s fixed carbon fiber design in Tactical Flat Dark Earth, keeping the overall weight down while providing a rigid platform that does not flex under recoil or change point of impact between shots. The receiver is topped with a Picatinny rail, and the barrel is threaded.
