Description
The Proof Research Elevation MTR is built for precision bolt-gun work at extended distances—hunters packing into mountain country and long-range shooters who need a rifle that won’t punish them on the carry but will perform under pressure at the bench. The platform centers on a Zermatt Arms Origin action, which provides the tight receiver tolerances and consistent bolt lockup that matter when you’re asking a rifle to hold sub-MOA groups across cold-bore and follow-up shots alike. Proof Research backs that standard with a written sub-MOA accuracy guarantee.
The carbon fiber-wrapped match-grade barrel is the functional heart of the design. CF wrapping stiffens the barrel against harmonic vibration without the weight penalty of a heavy-contour steel tube, which is a meaningful trade-off on a rifle intended to be carried. A 1-in-10 twist rate in 300 Win Mag seats well with a wide range of hunting and match projectiles in the 180–215 grain range; it stabilizes the heavier long-range bullets without being so fast that it penalizes lighter loads. The 5/8×24 threaded muzzle gives you the option to mount a suppressor or muzzle brake without adapters.
The stock is Proof Research’s Midnight Camo carbon fiber chassis, which pairs low mass with genuine rigidity—carbon fiber doesn’t swell or shift with humidity the way a traditional composite stock can. The rifle feeds from a 5-round MDT Steel AICS-pattern magazine, a format that accepts aftermarket AICS-compatible magazines if you want to change capacity. There are no iron sights fitted, so budget for an optic from the start. This is a purpose-built precision tool, not a general-purpose hunting rifle that happens to shoot well.
