Description

The Radian Weapons Raptor/Talon combo is a straightforward controls upgrade for AR-15 shooters who find the factory charging handle and safety selector the weakest links in an otherwise capable platform. Both pieces are machined from 7075-T6 aluminum — the charging handle body and the safety selector lever — with a hardened steel shaft on the selector for wear resistance at the pivot point where steel-on-steel contact is constant.

The Raptor charging handle is fully ambidextrous, with matched latch geometry on both sides rather than a single dominant latch with a vestigial secondary. That symmetry matters in practice: whether you palm-blade the handle, use a thumb-and-finger pinch, or reach across with your support hand, the resistance and travel feel the same on either side. There is no spring-loaded secondary latch to fumble with under stress.

The Talon safety selector ships with levers for both 45-degree and 90-degree throw, letting you configure it to suit your thumb length and grip style without sourcing additional parts. Shooters with a higher grip who keep the thumb close to the bore axis tend to prefer the shorter 45-degree arc; those running a more traditional thumb-over grip often find the full 90-degree throw easier to index positively. The selector installs without removing any screws — a retention spring holds the lever in place, which simplifies swapping between throw angles during a setup session.

Both components are finished in Radian Gray anodizing, which matches across the charging handle and selector so the two pieces read as a set rather than an assembly of mismatched aftermarket parts. Made in the USA.
