Description

The Radian Weapons RAMJET barrel and AFTERBURNER compensator system is built for shooters who want to run a Ruger RXM with genuinely reduced muzzle flip without resorting to a threaded barrel and a separately sourced compensator. The two components are designed as a matched set from the start, connected by Radian’s own INTRA-LOK mounting system, which locks the compensator to the barrel directly rather than relying on thread engagement. That matters because a threaded interface between a barrel and comp can loosen under sustained fire or require a set screw arrangement that adds bulk — INTRA-LOK is Radian’s answer to both problems in a carry-size package.

The AFTERBURNER compensator works by redirecting propellant gases upward at the muzzle, countering the rotational force that drives the muzzle skyward on a short pistol during recoil. On a compact 9mm, that flip is more pronounced than on a full-size because the shorter grip gives the hand less mechanical leverage to resist it — so the benefit of a well-designed comp is proportionally larger here than it would be on a duty-size pistol.

The finish on this configuration is DLC — diamond-like carbon — applied over a gray PVD stainless steel substrate. DLC is a hard, low-friction coating that resists wear at the points where barrel and slide make contact through the firing cycle, and it handles corrosion without the buildup that can affect some phosphate finishes. The combination of gray PVD and DLC gives the system a two-tone appearance that is a product of the coating process rather than cosmetic paint.

This is a drop-in fitment for the Ruger RXM in 9mm. No modification to the pistol is required, and no FFL transfer is needed to purchase the barrel assembly.
