Description
The Reptilia CQG grip was purpose-built for compact weapon platforms—short-barreled rifles, AR pistols, pistol-caliber carbines, and PDWs—where the standard mil-spec grip angle works against the shooter rather than with them. The geometry problem with most AR pistol builds is that a traditional grip angle pulls the wrist into an awkward position when the overall package is short and held close to the body. Reptilia addressed this by steepening the grip angle toward vertical, which lets the wrist sit in a more neutral position and keeps the hand locked in consistently across different shooting positions and hand sizes.
The enhanced beaver tail extends higher up the backstrap than a standard AR grip, encouraging the hand to ride as high on the grip as possible. A higher hand position shortens the effective distance between the grip and the controls, tightens the overall purchase on the weapon, and reduces muzzle movement during transitions. The anti-slip texture on both the front and rear faces of the grip reinforces that hold under stress or in adverse conditions without requiring the shooter to actively squeeze harder to maintain control.
Construction is impact-modified reinforced nylon, which keeps weight at 77 grams—light enough that it contributes nothing meaningful to the overall package—while remaining rigid under the stress of hard use. Compatibility spans AR-15, AR-10, SR-25, MCX, and FN SCAR 16 and 17 pattern hosts, so it transfers between platforms without modification. It carries an NSN, indicating it has been evaluated and listed for military procurement. Manufactured in the USA.
