Description
The Reptilia DOT Mount is built for shooters who want to run an Aimpoint Acro on an AR-15 platform without compromising their iron sight picture. Mounting at lower 1/3 co-witness height, it positions the Acro so that standard AR-style backup irons remain visible through the lower third of the optic’s window — useful for anyone who trains with both optic and irons as part of the same presentation rather than treating them as separate systems.
Reptilia machines the DOT Mount from 7075-T6 aluminum, a alloy that offers a meaningful strength-to-weight advantage over more common 6061 aluminum, which matters on a mount because the optic-to-rail interface absorbs recoil impulse on every shot. A spring-loaded nitrided steel clamp handles the rail interface itself — nitriding hardens the steel surface and improves wear resistance at the contact points that see the most stress during installation and removal cycles. The low-profile, anti-snag geometry means the mount won’t catch on gear during a draw or transition.
The result is a mount that weighs 57 grams — light enough that it contributes almost nothing to the overall weight of the build while still providing the rigidity a red dot needs to hold zero under sustained fire. Hardware and a hex key are included, so the mount is ready to install out of the box. Manufactured in the USA.
