Description

The Reptilia DOT Mount in its low-height configuration is built for shooters running Aimpoint ACRO or Steiner MPS optics on platforms where standard mounting heights create problems — specifically submachine guns and AK-pattern rifles with a Picatinny-railed gas tube sitting above the receiver. At that height, a conventional mount would push the optic too high to achieve a practical cheek weld or usable co-witness with backup iron sights. The low profile of this mount solves that by positioning the optic closer to the bore axis, bringing the sight line back in line with the shooter’s natural head position on those platforms.

The mount is machined from billet 7075-T6 aluminum, which keeps weight down without sacrificing the rigidity needed to hold zero under sustained use. The clamp and mounting bolt are nitrided steel with a spring-loaded design that sits flush with the body of the mount — a deliberate choice that eliminates protrusions that could snag on kit or vehicle interiors during fast transitions. Attachment is to any M1913 Picatinny rail. The Mil-Spec Type III hard anodized finish is durable and matches the Flat Dark Earth designation exactly as Reptilia specifies it. The mount is made in the USA. It is compatible with the Aimpoint ACRO, the Steiner MPS, and any other optic built to the ACRO mounting standard.
