Description
The Reptilia DOT Mount is built for shooters who run a Holosun 509T on a Picatinny-railed host and want a mounting solution that holds zero without adding unnecessary bulk. The 1.93-inch optical axis height is the practical centerline for co-witnessing with suppressor-height iron sights, putting the dot at a consistent cheek position that works across a range of AR-pattern and similarly configured rifles without requiring the shooter to crane or compress their neck to find the sight picture.
Reptilia machines the mount from billet 7075-T6 aluminum, which offers a high strength-to-weight ratio that keeps the overall package light while resisting deformation under recoil or handling stress. The Mil-Spec Type III hard anodized finish goes deeper into the surface than standard anodizing, giving the aluminum better abrasion resistance and a low-reflectivity appearance without adding meaningful weight. The mount attaches to any M1913 Picatinny rail, so it indexes the same way on any compliant rail segment, which matters when repeatable return-to-zero is the goal after removing and reinstalling the optic. Mounting hardware and a hex key are included, so initial installation requires nothing beyond what comes in the box. At 1.94 ounces, it contributes almost nothing to the overall weight budget of the firearm. The design avoids protrusions that could catch on gear or a holster opening, which is a deliberate trade-off favoring a snag-free draw over any aesthetic detail that might otherwise interfere.
