Description
The Reptilia DOT Mount is built for shooters who want a serious mounting platform for Aimpoint Micro T2-footprint optics without carrying unnecessary weight or bulk. At 1.93 inches of optical axis height above the rail, it positions a red dot where shooters using a modern heads-up cheek weld can acquire the reticle naturally, without craning or dropping into an awkward prone position behind the gun.
The mount is machined from billet 7075-T6 aluminum, which gives it the structural rigidity to hold zero under hard use while keeping the overall weight to 55 grams. The exterior receives a Milspec Type III hard anodized finish, the same specification used on military-issue components, which provides meaningful resistance to abrasion, corrosion, and the general wear of field handling. There are no sharp edges or proud hardware to snag on gear or a chest rig during a draw—the spring-loaded nitrided steel clamp and mounting bolt sit flush with the body of the mount by design.
Installation is straightforward: the mount attaches to any M1913 Picatinny rail, and the included mounting screws and hex L-key mean you have everything needed to get the optic up and running without sourcing additional tooling. The spring-loaded clamp mechanism simplifies seating the mount squarely on the rail before torquing down. Reptilia manufactures this mount entirely in the USA and backs it with a full lifetime warranty against manufacturer defects, which matters when you’re building a rifle you intend to rely on.
