Description

The Rix Optics RIP-3C is a four-function laser and illumination unit built for shooters who run night vision and need a single, low-profile device to handle both aiming and scene illumination. Rather than stacking separate units on a rail, it consolidates a green visible laser, an IR aiming laser, a VCSEL IR illuminator, and an LED white light into one aluminum-alloy housing that mounts directly to any M1913 Picatinny rail.

The green visible laser matters in daylight conditions where a red laser washes out against bright backgrounds. For low-light and night-vision work, the IR laser and the IR illuminator take over. The illuminator uses a VCSEL emitter with an adjustable beam divergence, which lets you widen the flood for close-quarters room clearing or tighten the spot to push illumination further downrange — the IR aiming laser stays centered within that illuminated cone regardless of how you set the spread. Visibility out to 550 yards for both the visible and IR lasers gives this unit practical range across the distances most engagements actually happen.

Co-axial alignment between the green and IR laser pointers means a single zeroing session sets both simultaneously. Windage and elevation adjustments use a 0.25 mil click value, which provides fine resolution without requiring tools — a cartridge case rim indexes the adjustment screws cleanly. The IP67 waterproof rating and 1000G shock resistance reflect construction intended for field use rather than range-only handling. At approximately eight ounces and with a footprint of 4.17 x 2.44 x 1.65 inches, it adds meaningful capability without dramatically shifting the balance of a host weapon. A single CR123A battery powers the system.
