Description

The Storm S6R is built for hunters and shooters who need a capable thermal riflescope that pulls double duty—mounted on a rifle or carried handheld during a slow stalk. The entire STORM line is designed around portability and ease of use, and the S6R sits at the top of that family with the highest-resolution sensor in the series. A 640×512 thermal detector captures more scene detail than lower-resolution sensors in the same lineup, which translates directly to better target identification at distance, particularly in conditions where heat signatures are subtle or the environment is humid.

The NETD rating of less than 20 mK measures how small a temperature difference the sensor can detect. A lower number means the sensor resolves finer contrast between objects and their surroundings, which matters most when a target is partially obscured or when ambient temperatures are close to body temperature. This is a meaningful step up from the discontinued Storm S6, which carried a NETD of less than 25 mK.

The built-in laser rangefinder measures out to 1,312 yards with a stated precision of ±1 meter, and it pairs with a free ballistic calculator app. Having range data feed into a ballistic solution removes one manual step from the shooting process at longer distances. The whole unit weighs right at one pound, so running it handheld between setups does not become a burden. A QD mount ships in the box, making transitions between handheld and rifle-mounted use straightforward. The 2× base magnification can be extended through digital zoom steps as needed.
