Description
The R3 Flash Mitigation System is built for 7.62 rifles where muzzle flash is a genuine problem — suppressor hosts, low-light training platforms, and any build where the shooter needs to stay oriented on target after the shot. Variable fluted prongs are the core of the design: the geometry breaks up the combustion gases at the crown in a way that eliminates the bright ring of light that traditional flash hiders often produce at the outer edges of the blast, while still dispersing the central flash column. The result is a cleaner, more neutral visual signature than a simple birdcage can deliver.
The Dual Taper Locking System is the feature that makes this device worth using as a suppressor mount rather than a standalone flash hider. The toothless, snag-free interface mates directly with the Rugged Radiant762, Surge762, Razor762, and Micro30, allowing those cans to seat and lock without the indexing shims and crush washers a standard thread-mount setup requires. That means repeatable alignment and a consistent return to zero each time you remove and reattach the suppressor. The M18x1.5 thread pattern is specific to Rugged’s suppressor ecosystem, so confirm your barrel is threaded to that spec — or can be — before ordering. Overall length is 2.13 inches, which keeps the added muzzle length modest on shorter barrels. Finish is matte black.
