Suppressor timing matters. When a muzzle device — whether a brake, flash hider, or direct-thread mount — indexes at the wrong rotational position after being torqued to spec, the only way to correct it without compromising the thread engagement is with precision shims. The kit is sized for .338 caliber barrels and covers three common thread pitches: 3/4″-24, M18x1, and M18x1.5. That range is intentional — large-bore rifles show up with both imperial and metric threading depending on manufacturer and country of origin, and having all three sizes in one kit means you are not ordering piecemeal when you find your brake has landed a quarter-turn off. The shims have an inside diameter of .760″ and an outside diameter of .875″, which keeps them seated cleanly against the shoulder without extending into the bore or overhanding the muzzle face.

Shimming is a straightforward process, but the fit has to be right. A shim that is too thick prevents full thread engagement; one that is too thin leaves the device under-torqued and free to walk.
