Description
The Switchback 22 2.0 is a rimfire suppressor built for shooters who want a single can that adapts to the way they actually use their firearms. Its modular construction lets you run it in three different configurations — shorter for pistols and compact hosts, longer when you want to wring out every decibel of reduction on a rifle. Rather than committing to one length at purchase, you’re choosing a tool that reconfigures to the task.
The baffle stack is where the engineering gets interesting. SilencerCo’s Click Together Assembly design uses stainless steel baffles that can be disassembled and cleaned without tools, which matters practically because rimfire ammunition is dirty and a suppressor that can’t be serviced will degrade in performance over time. Beyond serviceability, the baffles can also be reversed in orientation — and that’s not a trivial option. Directing propellant gases acts differently depending on whether the projectile is traveling at supersonic or subsonic velocity. The converging or diverging geometry of the baffles changes how gas pressure is slowed and dispersed, so orienting them for subsonic loads on a rifle produces a meaningfully different result than a fixed baffle stack designed around a single use case.
The outer tubes are titanium, keeping weight down for a design that already runs longer than a fixed-configuration suppressor when fully extended. The stainless steel baffles internally provide the durability to handle the sustained heat and fouling that come with full-auto rates of fire. The 1/2″-28 thread pattern covers the most common rimfire and centerfire pistol hosts, and caliber compatibility extends well beyond .22 LR to include other rimfire cartridges and 5.7x28mm.
