SIG AMMO 300WIN 165GR GK 20/200

Description

Sig Sauer’s Marksman Hunter line was built for hunters who demand competition-grade precision from their field ammunition. This .300 Winchester Magnum load pairs that cartridge’s long-range capability with a 165-grain Sierra GameKing projectile — a bullet with a long reputation among handloaders for its consistency across a wide range of velocities, which matters when shots stretch past 300 yards on mule deer or elk country.

The GameKing’s boat tail geometry reduces aerodynamic drag as the bullet slows through its flight path, which translates to a flatter arc and less sensitivity to crosswind compared to a flat-base design at the same weight. That makes wind calls more forgiving in open terrain, where a misjudged gust is the most common cause of a miss at distance. The thick jacket controls expansion rate and keeps the bullet together through bone, while the skived nose initiates reliable upset even at the reduced velocities a bullet carries at the far end of its range — a combination that serves medium and large game without the erratic performance that can come from a bullet designed purely for terminal speed.

Sig loads this round to 3,120 fps from a 24-inch test barrel, a figure worth noting when running it through ballistic software against your specific rifle’s barrel length. The brass case is reloadable for handloaders who want to develop a precise load around the GameKing at this velocity baseline. Each box contains 20 rounds.
