Description
The Sig Sauer M17-X is built for shooters who want the military M17 platform in a configuration ready for modern optics without modification. Where the standard M17 ships with iron sights alone, this variant mounts the ROMEO-M17 red dot directly from the factory, co-witnessed with the Siglite night sights front and rear so you have a usable aiming system if the optic is ever out of commission. The Siglite sights use tritium inserts, which means low-light target acquisition doesn’t depend on a battery.
The striker-fired action is the same P320-based FCU that underpins the U.S. Army’s service pistol, which matters practically because holsters, grip modules, and trigger components developed for the M17 ecosystem transfer directly. There is no manual safety on this pistol, which keeps the draw-to-fire sequence clean and consistent — a deliberate military specification choice that places all safety responsibility on the trigger’s integrated mechanisms.
Three 21-round magazines come in the box, meaningful for both extended range sessions and competition use where round count between reloads has a direct effect on stage time. The Coyote Tan finish on the frame is the same designation Sig uses on their military-contract variants, not a standard aftermarket color. The 4.7-inch barrel gives the pistol a full-size sight radius and velocity profile without the bulk of a competition-length slide, keeping it manageable for duty or carry use by those comfortable with a larger frame.
