Description

The MPX Competition Carbine is built for USPSA Pistol Caliber Carbine division shooters who want a ready-to-run platform without spending time or money on aftermarket upgrades before their first match. It ships with a Timney single-stage trigger, which removes the take-up and reset ambiguity of a standard mil-spec unit and lets a shooter call their shots more cleanly under time pressure. The three-chamber compensator at the muzzle redirects propellant gas upward to counteract muzzle rise, keeping the dot or irons on target between shots — a meaningful advantage in a course of fire with multiple steel or paper transitions.

The closed, rotating-bolt gas system that defines the MPX platform meters gas differently from a standard blowback design: rather than relying entirely on case-head pressure to cycle the action, it uses a short-stroke piston arrangement that keeps more mass forward and reduces the sharp rearward impulse that blowback 9mm carbines are known for. The practical result is a flatter shooting gun at competition pace. The 1-in-10-inch twist rate stabilizes the full range of common 9mm projectile weights — 115, 124, and 147 grain loads all fall comfortably within what that rate handles — so ammunition selection becomes a matter of preference rather than a compatibility concern.

The M-LOK handguard runs narrow by design, which lowers hand position and brings the bore axis closer to the support hand, contributing to the overall recoil management geometry. The five-position folding and telescoping stock accommodates a wide range of shooter builds and still folds flat when a compact carry profile is needed. One 35-round magazine is included. Ambidextrous controls make the platform equally workable for left- and right-handed competitors without modification.
