Description

The P226 X-Five Classic is built for the competitive shooter who wants a full-size, match-oriented pistol without converting or modifying a duty gun. It is a dedicated competition platform — the longer 5-inch barrel gives the 9mm cartridge more time to accelerate, which translates to a modest velocity gain and, more relevantly for competition, a longer sight radius that makes consistent target acquisition easier at distance. That same barrel length shifts the balance point forward, which helps manage muzzle movement between shots.

The single-action-only trigger is the defining mechanical choice here. Unlike a conventional DA/SA P226, the SAO variant fires with the same pull weight every time, eliminating the need to account for the long, heavier first-shot pull that double-action designs require. This makes shot-to-shot consistency more achievable and simplifies the trigger training requirement considerably. A manual safety is included, which is standard practice on SAO pistols to allow carrying with the hammer cocked.
