The P226 X-Five Extreme is Sig Sauer’s competition-oriented take on the P226 platform, built for shooters who want a pistol that arrives ready for structured competition or serious practice rather than one that needs to be worked up from a service configuration. The design priorities are consistent trigger performance, a stable shooting grip, and compatibility with modern optics — all without the usual round of aftermarket work.

At the center of that approach is the AX3 trigger system, which is fully adjustable and runs single-action only. Single-action-only operation means the trigger has a shorter, more consistent pull on every shot because the trigger is not also cocking a striker or hammer — the shooter’s grip and the cycling of the slide handle that. The adjustability lets you dial in pull weight and reset to suit your hand and your discipline rather than accepting a factory compromise.

The five-inch bull barrel extends the sight radius and adds mass at the muzzle, which dampens perceived muzzle rise and gives the barrel itself more inherent rigidity than a standard-contour design. The Nitron XSeries SIG-LOC slide is machined to accept red dot optics directly, so mounting a dot does not require a plate adapter or milling work. Fixed night sights are included and sit co-witness height, giving you a backup aiming system that functions independently of any optic.

Hogue G10 Piranha grips provide a consistent purchase under most hand conditions, and the integrated alloy magwell speeds reloads by funneling magazines into the well rather than requiring precise manual alignment under pressure. The stainless steel frame is finished in Nitron and includes a 1913 accessory rail forward of the trigger guard. Three ten-round magazines are included.
