The P226X Legion SAO is built for the competitive shooter or serious enthusiast who wants a full-size metal-frame pistol tuned for precision from the factory rather than through a succession of aftermarket parts. The platform traces its lineage directly to the P226-XFive Legion, and the X-Series frame carries that heritage into a more accessible configuration without compromising the design intent.

The single-action-only trigger is where this pistol earns its place on the range. An SAO system resets the same way on every shot—there is no double-action first pull to manage, which means your trigger feel is consistent whether it is the first round or the last. Sig pairs that with the AX1 adjustable SAO trigger, so pre-travel, over-travel, and reset can be dialed to match your grip and technique rather than forcing you to adapt to a fixed geometry. The bull barrel with target crown is machined to tighter mechanical tolerances than a standard tapered barrel, which contributes to more consistent bullet exit conditions and is a common choice in competition-oriented pistols for that reason.

The X-Series frame includes an undercut trigger guard that allows a higher grip, reducing muzzle rise by keeping the bore axis closer to the shooter’s hand. The 1913 accessory rail keeps a light or laser in a fixed position relative to the bore.
