Description

The P938 is Sig Sauer’s micro-compact answer to the question of how small a 1911-pattern pistol can be made while remaining genuinely practical for concealed carry. It is built around a single-action trigger — the same manual-of-arms as a full-size 1911 — which means the shooter gets a consistent, short pull rather than the longer, heavier stroke of a double-action design. That consistency translates directly to better shot placement under stress, though it does place the full burden of safe handling on the user, who must manage the external hammer and thumb safety deliberately.

The frame is aluminum alloy with a black hard-coat anodized finish, kept light enough to disappear on the body while still providing a rigid platform for the steel slide. That slide wears Sig’s Rainbow-Titanium PVD coating, which is not paint or Cerakote but a physical vapor deposition process that bonds to the metal at a molecular level for durability and corrosion resistance — and produces the iridescent color shift that makes this variant visually distinctive. The edges of the slide are rounded and beveled so nothing catches on a cover garment during the draw. Grip panels are Hogue G10, a layered glass-fiber composite that provides positive purchase without the sharpness of aggressive stippling, and holds up to sweat and solvent without degrading.

SIGLITE night sights are factory-fitted, meaning the pistol arrives ready for low-light use with no aftermarket work required. The ambidextrous thumb safety makes the pistol viable for left-handed shooters without modification. A single seven-round magazine is included, and the 7+1 capacity keeps the grip profile small enough to matter for deep concealment while still giving the shooter a usable round count.
