Description

The Romeo 8T-AMR is Sig Sauer’s duty-grade red dot, built for shooters who run a rifle hard and need an optic that keeps pace. The 40mm objective lens lets in enough light that the dot stays sharp and visible across a broad range of ambient conditions without requiring you to crank the brightness to its upper limit, which in turn preserves dot crispness and reduces washout against bright backgrounds.

The Quad Ballistic Circle Dot 2.0 reticle — what Sig calls the QBCD 2.0 — gives you more than a single aiming point. The outer circle speeds up close-range acquisition by giving your eye a large, fast shape to land on, while the central dot handles precision work at distance. The AMR designation indicates the reticle includes additional holdover references, letting you account for bullet drop without dialing adjustments mid-string. That combination makes this sight practical across a wider range of engagement distances than a plain dot optic.

At 1x magnification, both eyes can stay open comfortably, which is the standard working method for close-quarters carbine use. There is no parallax introduced by magnification, so your point of aim stays consistent even when your cheek weld or head position shifts slightly between shots. The optic uses a CR123A battery and includes Sig’s MOTAC system, which powers the sight down when it detects no motion and wakes it when movement resumes — reducing the chance of a dead battery from leaving the optic switched on between uses.
