SL 578 GLS PRO-FIT STANDARD BLK RH

Description

The Safariland 578 GLS Pro-Fit is a duty and carry holster built around one core idea: a single holster that fits a broad range of full-size and compact handguns without sacrificing reliable retention. Rather than being fitted to a single pistol profile, the 578’s body is adjustable so the same holster can be dialed in across more than 225 different firearms, which makes it practical for armorers outfitting mixed-fleet agencies or for shooters who run more than one platform.

Retention is handled by the GLS—Grip Lock System—a passive locking mechanism that automatically secures the weapon the moment it seats in the holster. Release requires nothing more than pressing inward with the middle finger as part of a natural shooting grip, so the draw stroke and the retention defeat happen simultaneously rather than sequentially. There is no external thumb break or lever to train around, which reduces the cognitive steps between the decision to draw and the gun coming clear.

The holster body is formed from SafariSeven, Safariland’s proprietary nylon blend. The material is non-abrasive against blued, Cerakoted, or finished slides, handles temperature extremes without warping, and is straightforward to clean. The low-cut, compact profile keeps the muzzle end from printing and lets the gun ride close to the body. Included hardware covers both carry styles: an injection-molded paddle for quick on-and-off, and an injection-molded belt loop that adjusts for cant and supports cross-draw positioning. The optic-capable design accommodates pistols with common red dot footprints without requiring a separate holster variant. This is a right-hand holster in black SafariSeven.
