Description

The Safariland 6360RDS is built for duty officers and armed professionals who carry a red dot–equipped pistol and need a holster that can keep up with that configuration without sacrificing retention or speed. Most standard holsters are not cut to clear a mounted optic, and many that are cut for optics give up security in the trade. This one does not.

Retention here is Level III, achieved by combining two independent locking mechanisms: the Automatic Locking System (ALS) locks the pistol the moment it seats, and the Self Locking System (SLS) rotating hood provides a second layer over the top. To draw, the shooter deactivates the SLS hood with a thumb sweep and then releases the ALS, a sequence that becomes fast and consistent with practice but resists unauthorized access under stress or a grab attempt. The draw stroke goes straight up, which makes reindexing under movement more predictable than designs that require a forward push or a cant.

The body is constructed from SafariLaminate, a rigid laminate material that holds its molded shape across temperature extremes, with a suede lining on the interior that keeps the pistol’s finish and the red dot housing from contacting bare polymer. This specific variant is fitted for the Smith & Wesson M&P 9 M2.0 CORE and accommodates a SureFire X300 or X300U weapon light, so the holster accounts for the added geometry of both the optic and the light simultaneously. The mid-ride belt attachment mounts to a 2.25-inch duty belt, positioning the pistol close to the body for a stable carry profile under a cover garment or in open-carry patrol conditions. The STX Basket Weave finish in black matches standard duty equipment and holds up to daily field use.
