Description

The Safariland 578 GLS Pro-Fit is an outside-the-waistband holster built around two ideas: one design that accommodates a broad range of handguns, and a retention system that works with your draw rather than against it. The GLS—Grip Lock System—automatically engages when the pistol is seated, locking it in place without any manual lever or button to remember. To release, pressure from the middle finger during a natural shooting grip deactivates retention, so the same motion that establishes your grip on the gun also clears it from the holster. There is no separate manipulation step, which keeps the draw consistent under stress.

The holster body is formed from SafariSeven, a proprietary nylon blend that Safariland developed to be non-abrasive against a pistol’s finish—relevant if you carry a gun with a coated or blued slide you’d rather not wear down. The material also handles temperature extremes without becoming brittle in the cold or soft in the heat, which matters for anyone carrying outdoors across seasons. This example is finished in Flat Dark Earth to match common frame and accessory colors in that family.

Mounting hardware includes both an injection-molded paddle and a belt loop, giving you the option to attach or remove the holster without threading your belt. The belt loop is adjustable for cant, including cross-draw positioning.
