Description
The Safariland QLS 22L is a receiver plate for law enforcement, military, and armed professionals who want to move holsters and pouches between mounting platforms without tools and without breaking down their entire kit. It is the stationary half of Safariland’s Quick Locking System — it mounts to a fixed surface while the QLS 19 Locking Fork, attached to the back of a holster or pouch, snaps in and releases with a pinch of the thumb and index finger.
The plate is injection-molded nylon, which keeps weight low and resists corrosion in field conditions. It can be screwed directly to any stable flat surface — a tactical leg shroud, belt loop, wall mount, or similar platform — using the appropriate hardware. Because it accepts the standard Safariland 3-hole backpiece pattern, it works with a wide range of duty holsters and accessories already in service, making it straightforward to add QLS capability to existing gear rather than replacing it.
The 22L variant differs from the standard QLS 22 in one meaningful way: it incorporates an additional locking feature that adds a secondary retention check on the connection between fork and plate. When combined with the QLS 19 fork, the assembly meets Safariland’s Level I Retention standard for duty holster pull tests. The plate can also interface with an MLS 16 Accessory Locking Fork mounted to its rear face, which allows the receiver to be positioned on MOLLE-loop equipment and then used as a QLS attachment point on top of that — useful when a setup requires bridging belt-mounted and vest-mounted configurations.
