Description
The Safariland 6354RDSO is a duty-grade ALS holster built around a specific problem: carrying a Glock 17 MOS that already has a red dot optic and a full-size weapon light mounted. Most standard holsters can’t accommodate that combination without forcing the optic into a covered pocket or leaving the light unsupported. The 6354RDSO solves this with an open optic pocket — a cutout design that shields the sight body and keeps it fully functional without a flip-up cover that could snag or fail to clear during a draw.
Retention is handled by Safariland’s Automatic Locking System. The pistol locks automatically on insertion, and the release is a thumb-activated lever that sweeps naturally as the hand assumes a firing grip. This means there is no extra manual step to think through under stress — the draw motion itself drives the release. The holster is fitted specifically for the SureFire X300 or lights of comparable size, so the light rail and body are both indexed and supported rather than just along for the ride.
Construction uses a laminate body with a Ranger Green Cordura exterior, which holds its shape under load without adding unnecessary weight. Ranger Green is a practical choice for users whose kit already runs in that color family. The right-hand configuration and matte finish keep the profile low and functional. This is a purpose-built holster for a specific pistol-optic-light configuration — if that’s your setup, the fit is exact by design rather than approximate by compromise.
