Description
The Safariland Model 6378 ALS Paddle Holster is designed for plainclothes carry, off-duty use, and any situation where a low-profile outside-the-waistband rig makes more sense than a full duty platform. It fits the Glock 19, 23, and 32, and is configured for right-hand draw.
The core of the design is Safariland’s Automatic Locking System, or ALS. When the pistol is holstered, a locking mechanism engages automatically without any manual step from the user. To draw, the shooter sweeps a thumb lever mounted at the rear of the holster body, releasing the lock and allowing a straight upward draw. The retention is passive on the way in and active on the way out, which means the gun is secured the moment it seats — there is no secondary step to remember under stress.
The paddle attachment allows the holster to be put on and taken off without removing a belt, making it practical for personnel who need to transition between armed and unarmed environments during a shift. The STX Tactical Black finish is a proprietary SafariSuede-lined polymer construction that reduces internal friction for a smoother draw while protecting the firearm’s finish over repeated use.
Because the 6378 sits close to the body without the bulk of a full duty holster, it suits shooters who need meaningful retention — more than a simple friction-fit concealment holster provides — without the profile of a Level III system. It covers the trigger guard fully, keeps the muzzle pointed downward in a stable platform, and gives up nothing in draw speed once the thumb-lever motion is trained.
